Barclays Premier League

MP & Silva, an international media rights company, secured a deal with the Premier League to distribute the media rights of English football’s top-tier Premier League for the next three seasons in the Philippines.

MP & Silva sold the rights to new broadcaster, beIN SPORT HD. They were unable to be ready for the start of this season. This gave the BALLS channel an opportunity to show live Barclays Premier League matches. Up to the end of October, BALLS would have shown 23 matches over 9 match weekends.

beIN SPORT HD is now available on SKYcable HD and will fulfil its exclusive rights from November 1. The last Barclays Premier League match on BALLS with be Chelsea vs. Manchester City on Monday October 28.

UEFA Champions League

Matchday 3 is the battle of the football giants from Spain - Barcelona and Real Madrid - going head-to-head with 2 football giants from Italy - AC Milan and Juventus:

FIFA U-17 World Cup

The United Arab Emirates will serve as the host country for the fifteenth edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Football fans can witness the opening of this momentous event on BALLS on Thursday October 17, 2013 at 9:00 pm.

UAAP Season 76

The UAAP Season 76 men’s basketball tournament comes to a close today when the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers and the De La Salle University Green Archers face-off for Game 3 of their best-of-three finals at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The game tips-off at 3:30 pm. BALLS Channel will air the replay of Game 3 of the UAAP Season 76 men’s basketball Finals starting at 10:30 pm.

Philippine Peace Cup

Defending champions and hosts, Philippines are favorites to retain their title in the upcoming 2013 Philippine Peace Cup. This year’s tournament will be held in Panaad Stadium, Bacolod, Negros Occidental on October 11 to 15, 2013. 

There will be three teams participating this season instead of four. The Azkals are joined by Chinese-Taipei and Pakistan. It will be a single round robin format and the team with the highest points total will be declared the winner. 

BALLS Channel will air next day replays:

• Philippines vs. Chinese Taipei on October 12, Saturday at 2 pm. 
• Chinese Taipei vs. Pakistan on October 14, Monday at 5 pm. 
• Philippines vs. Pakistan on October 16, Wednesday at 6 pm.

The Philippine Peace Cup is preparation for the Azkals for the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup in May.

FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

The qualifier matches for Brazil 2014 resume on Saturday October 12. BALLS have a triple-header:

• 4 am Spain vs. Belarus
• 6 am Greece v Slovakia
• 8 am Portugal vs. Israel

Followed by Wednesday October 16:

ATP World Tour 1000

The coverage of the ATP World Tour 1000 Masters continues in October with the Shanghai Masters.

ATP World Tour 1000 Series: Shanghai

In last year’s final, Novak Djokovic dethroned two-time Shanghai Masters winner Andy Murray. Murray has figured in three straight finals matches in the tournament, defeating Roger Federer in 2010, David Ferrer in 2011 before falling to Djokovic last year.

The Japan Open has always been able to lure the world’s top players as big names like Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray are among those who have been hailed as champions in Tokyo.

European Tour

October is a jam packed month for golf as the 2013 European Tour has five events on its schedule and they will all be aired on BALLS.


Alfred Dunhill Links Championship 

Scotland is the “Home of Golf” and this year marks the thirteenth time that the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship will take place in it. From October 1-4, 2013, the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship can be seen on BALLS Channel with coverage starting at 1:00 pm.


Seve Trophy

The “Seve Trophy” is named after Seve Ballesteros, a five time Major winner and the man considered as the most successful golfer from Continental Europe. Two teams make up the tournament with one team representing Continental Europe and the other representing Great Britain and Ireland. Coverage of the 2013 Seve Trophy will be from October 12-13, 2013 at 10:00 am. and October 14-16 at 1:00 pm. only on BALLS Channel.


Venetian Macau Open

One of the newest events on the European Tour, the Portugal Open is scheduled to take place for the fifth time at the Arnold Palmer designed Oceanico Victoria Golf Course in Vilamoura. Perth International 

The European Tour makes its lone stop in Australia with the second staging of the Perth International. American Bo Van Pelt took home the inaugural trophy in the first ever Perth International last year. Catch the 2013 Perth International from October 30 to November 2, 2013 at 1:00 pm.
